Jessica Simpson Ditches Columbia, Signs with Epic

Jessica Simpson has ditched her long-term record label and signed instead with Epic.
Having spent seven successful years with Columbia, Jessica this weekend released a statement, which read: "I love all my friends and supporters at Columbia. I will miss them as I start this new relationship."
"Epic is in a new place with a new leader. It just seems the right place for me as I begin my new journey."
Jessica Simpson's next album, "And the Band Played On," is set to be released May 16 with Epic. The new album has been described by Jessica Simpson as having "a little bit of everything in it", and it will sound like "Billie Holiday, Patsy Cline, Stevie Nicks – it's all over the place."
"But then there's songs for us girls to dance to in the club", according to Simpson.
For the first time in her career Jessica Simpson is co-writing and co-producing her own material; she registered a number of new songs and she is also the executive producer of the album.
Jessica Simpson has also started filming her second movie "Employee of the Month," with Dane Cook, in New Mexico, as well as being signed on to star in her third movie, "Major Movie Star."

Lindsay or Jessica will star in "Dallas"?

Lindsay Lohan is presently the five to play the role of sexy long-haired little blonde Lucy Ewing Cooper, in a movie version of “Dallas”, according to published reports.
It looks like she has the full endorsement of original 47-year-old actress Charlene Tilton in her bid.
"They are thinking of casting Lindsay Lohan as Lucy and I'm a fan of hers. I think it is a great choice", said Tilton.
But again rumors that running hot in favor of a Jessica Simpson casting, especially tempting because of her buxom body, long blonde hair, and Texas accent.
As we notes, her native heredity in Texas would make her more of a natural for the role, it would seem, but no decisions have been announced as finalized yet.
Director Robert Zemeckis states that Hollywood's biggest stars are desperate to win roles in the remake of the show, which aired from 1978 to 1991.
Jessica plans to adopt

Jessica Simpson has been inspired to follow her adoption dreams by celebrity activist Angelina Jolie. The newly-single pop star once begged her father to let her adopt a Mexican orphan during a trip to Latin America when she was a teenager, and now she's seriously considering giving a child a home and a better life. And it's all thanks to actress Jolie, who has adopted two kids and is carrying boyfriend Brad Pitt's first child. Simpson says, "I think Angelina Jolie has done amazing, amazing things and the international adoption rate just since her (decision to adopt) has skyrocketed. It's unbelievable. "I want to adopt and I plan to adopt before I have my own kids." And Simpson is hoping she can inspire other wannabe mums to follow her example by urging politicians to help cut through red tape that prevents certain couples from adopting. The pop star is planning to speak to President George W Bush about the issue, urging him to make it easier for interracial couples to adopt.

Jessica Simpson To Do An Angelina Jolie?

Jessica Simpson may be giving up singing for good to concentrate on her acting career. Well, not exactly ‘giving it up’ as she has just signed a multi million dollar deal to stay with Columbia Records…but that she will be making her acting her priority.
According to W magazine she said: "Music will always be my passion, but I don't have to do it professionally. It's just not really about that for me anymore. I feel like I don't have to look at it as a career. I can just rest in it and just be."
Surprisingly Simpson has other things on her mind other then music and acting, she is planning on lobbying members of congress later this month on behalf of a children’s charity.
Simpson will be travelling to Washington DDC to talk about Operation Smile, a charity that helps provide surgery for children with facial abnormalities.
A source from the organisation said: "She's in the phase of her life now where she wants to use her celebrity for good.
"She's flying in on her own dime. This is her Angelina moment."
