When asked by Time Out New York, "So, what about Jessica? According to Extra, you can't deny you're a couple anymore," Mayer responds: "I don't think I've ever denied it. When did I deny it?"
Adds Mayer, whose fans might think the crooner and the pop star are an odd match: "I'm having the best time of my life, so if the names don't make sense to people, that's so small to me."

Jessica Simpson is in talks to appear in cult British sci-fi show ‘Doctor Who’, it has been reported. Bosses at the BBC are approaching A-list stars to cameo in the upcoming series in an attempt to add a touch of Hollywood glamour to the show and have contacted Jessica.
A source said: “It’s a great idea. Having Jessica on the show will help sell it to the US.”
Jessica Biel is also rumoured to be on TV bosses’ hit list.

Singer/actress Jessica Simpson has reportedly set herself a new challenge. Simpson wants to learn to speak fluent French in less than four months, according to reports from across the pond.
The 26-year-old 'Daisy Duke' is convinced that she'll be able to pick up the language in no time if she puts her mind to it. Jessica says, "I work best under pressure. So I've given myself until the end of May to be able to speak French like a natural. "Think I can do it?"
Jessica Simpson is now a former blonde bombshell as she has gone red after playing around with hairstyles. The singer enlisted the help of good friend and hair stylist Ken Paves to create a new red-head look for her after deciding on a major makeover.
The stylist to the stars explains, "We were just having fun and playing with her hairdo... and Jessica just loved it. (Jessica) calls it an 'auburn ginger.'"
Paves said the look was inspired by old Hollywood glamour adding, "It's a throw back to Norma Jean (Marilyn Monroe). It has a very Marilyn Monroe feel.
"Jessica likes it because it's not as produced and it's a little natural and organic. She has gorgeous hair.
"She even looks gorgeous without hair! This look is natural and looks great on her."

Mayer Dodges Simpson Questions by Speaking Japanese

Singer John Mayer has found a new way to discourage reporters from asking questions about his relationship with Jessica Simpson, by answering in fluent Japanese. The singer was interviewed by Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards Sunday and refused to answer questions about his personal life in English.
When Seacrest asked him about his rumored romance during a live segment on the E! Entertainment TV network, Mayer answered in Japanese, and then told the probing broadcaster, "Find a Japanese person and decode it. Subtitle it. Then you'll have your answer."
Before ending the interview, Mayer told an amused Seacrest, "I'm very happy with what I just did to you" before walking off. Seacrest did have Mayer's comments de-coded, which translated to, "She is very beautiful and you'll be the last to know."
Mayer, 29, and Simpson, 26, were photographed getting cozy later in the evening at the Sony BMG party, where Simpson's father Joe joked about the earlier exchange.
When asked about his daughter's relationship with Mayer he laughingly replied, "I'm answering in the father's language, which is 'No comment!'"

Jessica Simpson was thrilled with her performance in the movie The Dukes of Hazzard, because she felt she was finally able to establish herself as an actress by playing sexy Daisy Duke. The star claims she worked hard portraying the tomboy, especially while filming the provocative video for ‘These Boots are made for Walkin'.
"That wasn't me. That was Daisy Duke. I was selling a movie. And I have to say I did a pretty damned good job of it. That video put me on the map as an actress because I don't walk around in a bikini and dance like that. That was so out of character for me," she was quoted by Contactmusic, as saying.
Meanwhile the singer/actress knew she had found her new home in the Hollywood Hills after she went to view it and it "hugged" her. She was searching for her own place after divorcing Nick Lachey and admits she immediately fell in love with the vine-covered home in Coldwater Canyon, Los Angeles. Simpson purchased the mansion from high-powered Hollywood manager Rick Yorn. It was once owned by US talk show host Ellen Degeneres.
"I ran into Ellen the other night, and she said it was her favourite house of all time. It was the second house I looked at, and I fell in love with it. I walked into it and it just hugged me," she said.

The pair wrapped up to protect themselves from chilly weather as they made their way to a nearby auditorium for the latest date on Mayer's US tour.
