Jessica Simpson Gets a Second Chance at a Dolly Parton Classic

Viewers won't get to see Jessica Simpson's erroneous performance during a tribute to Dolly Parton. Simspon messed up Parton's classic 9 to 5 despite the help of cue cards waving in front of her face.
She became noticeably distraught when she messed up a line ending the song saying, "Dolly, you make me so nervous. I can't even sing the words right."
Simpson's rep Cindi Berger explained she put too much pressure on herself. "She wanted the song to be perfect and she was upset with herself when it wasn't."
The pop princess was at The Kennedy Centre paying homage to Dolly Parton, one of five honorees. Others included filmmaker Steven Spielberg, Motown great Smokey Robinson, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and conductor Zubin Mehta. Simpson got a second go after asking organizers if she could sing the song again.
The error-less performance can be seen Dec. 26 on CBS.

Jessica Simpson loses ad campaign to Lindsay Lohan

JESSICA Simpson could have been the face of Miu Miu instead of Lindsay Lohan, if it hadn’t been for her slavish devotion to her hairdresser, Ken Paves. Insiders say Simpson was on a short list of celebs Miu Miu had in mind for its next ad campaign being shot by famed fotogs Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. But when the snappers learned Simpson was on the list, they nixed her.
“They felt snubbed by Jessica because they were set to do her Vanity Fair shoot several months ago,” says an insider. “Being the professionals they are, they wanted to bring in their own hair and makeup team, but Jessica said if they didn’t use Ken, then she wasn’t sitting for the shoot.”
The shoot and cover story for Vanity Fair were canceled amid false rumors that editors spiked them because Simpson refused to dish on her failed marriage to Nick Lachey.
Our source insists it was the hair issues that ruined the spread: “Most fashion photographers use their own people - and they certainly don’t use Ken Paves, who is considered tacky and amateurish for high-fashion shoots. He’s very ‘Texas pageant hair.’ ”
A rep for Simpson said, “She could not have done the campaign anyway because she has her own clothing and shoe line.”

Decked out in a Monique Lhuillier dress and Jimmy Choos, Simpson recently returned from London, where she had been starring as Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago.
"I'm happy to be home," she told PEOPLE. "Trying to take a few weeks off and just be normal. Got a new house that I'm looking forward to. I'm living with my sister right now. It's great. I'm definitely messier. But she's been a great big sister. She's definitely taken me under her wing and let me live in her house and invade it."
So what do she and Jessica, 26, do together at home? "She's been cooking for me. She's an amazing cook. I try to help out, but usually I do the green beans and the cake and that's about it."
